or close to two decades, Lisa Phillips has achieved justice for her clients in courtrooms across the country. She has worked on nearly 75 cases during that time, establishing herself as a leader in significant matters before district courts, the International Trade Commission, the Federal Circuit, and the Patent Trial and Appeals Board. And as a successful trial tested advocate — having examined and cross-examined fact and expert witnesses — Lisa is also often asked to share her insight with bar groups, the press, students, and others.
Because of her keen litigation background, clients also engage Lisa to assist with infringement, validity, and enforceability opinions, licensing and joint development agreements, and intellectual property settlement agreements.
While Lisa enjoys making new law as an attorney, she began her professional career making new pharmaceuticals as a biotechnology researcher. After a decade in the industry, Lisa’s work led to the discovery of something outside the laboratory — her interest in the law governing innovation. Lisa acted on the interest and pursued a law degree while also working.
Lisa was formerly a partner at Rothwell Figg in Washington, D.C.
