N

athan Cummings brings over 25 years of patent litigation experience to every matter. His quarter-century of success includes district court victories, Federal Circuit appellate triumphs, successes before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board, and winning Supreme Court advocacy.

Nathan has served as the lead attorney on numerous briefs and in oral arguments at the PTAB and the Federal Circuit. He also authored a Supreme Court amicus brief on behalf of nine technology companies in MGM Studios Inc. v. Grokster, Ltd., which the Court cited in its unanimous opinion.

After graduating magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law, Nathan clerked for the Honorable Clyde H. Hamilton, Circuit Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. And before law school, Nathan worked as an engineer at IBM.

Nathan’s father and grandfather were both chocolatiers. Nathan continues this tradition as an artisan chocolate maker, employing some of the same chocolate making techniques that were first introduced at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
