Innovatio originally brought claims of infringement in September 2011, asserting that numerous restaurants and hotels were infringing its Wi-Fi patents. During the course of the litigation, Judge Holderman held that Innovatio must license its technology on reasonable and non-discriminatory (RAND) terms. After his ruling, we pressed Innovatio for a zero-dollar dismissal, while 80 other restaurants and hotels left the fight and agreed to settle. Ultimately, we persuaded Innovatio that pursuing its case against our clients was a futile endeavor and Innovatio dismissed the case for zero dollars.
